Colorado is one of the 34 states that are part of the Nurse Licensure Compact. It is unnecessary for those with current licenses from member states to obtain a separate license in order to work in Colorado. Others, including first-time licensees, those with expired licenses or whose license is from a non-compact state will need to apply to the Board of Nursing at the Department of Regulatory Agencies.
